Final Fantasy Record Keeper FFRK – Not authorized by Google play service
by Mike MacMillan 11/5/15

ADD A REPLY
I’ve been playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper – FFRK – for a few months on my Samsung S4 phone now without any issues.

A couple of days ago I received the following message trying to start the game: “Your account, or this app is not authorized by Google play service.”

I’ve already uninstalled & re-installed, cleared Cache, restated my device, signed in & out of Google Play and nothing is working.

I can still access this game and Google Play on my tablet without issues but not on my phone.

Any ideas why this is occurring and what can be done to fix this?

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Google Play Help Forum. If you are having issues with Play Services, please follow these simple suggestions below.

Please note that these steps may cause various Google services to not function properly until you update Google Play services again via the Play Store app.

  1. Locate the Device administrators settings

    1. Open the Settings application from the all apps list in the launcher

    2. Select Security > Device administrators – depending on the device, the path may be slightly different.  In some devices, this is under Lock screen and security > Other security settings > Device administrators OR General > Security > Phone > Device administrators

  2. Deactivate Android Device Manager

    1. In the Device administrators screen, look for Android Device Manager, with a checkbox next to it.  If that entry exists, and the checkbox is checked, uncheck it (if not, skip to #3).

    2. You will be taken to a screen with details for Android Device Manager.  Click the Deactivate button at the bottom of the screen. This should bring you back to the Device administrators window, and the Android Device Managercheckbox should now be unchecked.

    3. On the Device administrators screen, you may also see an entry for Android Pay, with a checkbox next to it.  If that entry exists, and the checkbox is checked, uncheck it (if not, skip to #3).

    4. You will be taken to a screen with details for Android Pay.  Click the Deactivate button at the bottom of the screen. This should bring you back to the Device administrators window, and the Android Pay checkbox should now be unchecked.

  3. Uninstall Google Play services update

    1. Hit the “back” button twice from the Device administrators screen to return to the top-level Settings screen

    2. Select the Apps or Applications > All > Google Play services

    3. Select Uninstall Updates

      1. If you use an app that requires the latest Google Play services, you’ll get an update prompt and the update may immediately be reinstalled.

  4. Enable Android Device Manager

    1. Return to the Device administrators screen from #1. Make sure the checkbox next to Android Device Manager is checked.  You will be taken to the screen with details for Android Device Manager.

    2. Select Activate at the bottom of the screen.  This should bring you back to the Device administrators window, and the Android Device Manager checkbox should now be checked

Let me know if this resolved your issue. Have a great day!

Final Fantasy Record Keeper game will not open
by Aydrea 12/29/16

My final Fantasy Record Keeper game for my Android phone will not open. I guess it was updated last night and now it will not work. I only get a black screen with a message that says
Google Account Error this Google account or this app is not authorized by Google play services.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Still nothing but black screen with Google account error message.
How or what do I do or when will this be resolved?

Hi Aydrea,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Play Help Forum.

I appreciate you trying to fix the black screen issue you’re experiencing when launching a particular game. To try resolving this issue, I’d recommend trying these steps:

  1. Clear cache for the Google Play Store app & Google Play Services (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Play Services > Clear cache > OK).

  2. Uninstall updates for Google Play Services (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Play Services > Uninstall updates > OK).

  3. Uninstall updates for the Play Store app Play Store(Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Play Store > Uninstall updates > OK).

  4. Clear data for the Google Play Store app Play Store(Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Play Store > Clear data > OK).

  5. Restart your device.

Also, I’d suggest you check if you’re experiencing similar issue launching a different app or a game. If not, I’d recommend you contact the app developer for this game for which you can Find contact information for the app developer by following the steps for your device listed in this Help Center.
Let me know the progress.
Best,
Thompson
