kris smith played rugby league in England until injury forced his retirement, then became a model.
He’s known for his super-fit physique and love of exercise and regularly struts his stuff in some of menswear’s most fashionable brands.
But Kris Smith, who is usually a lean mean fighting machine, cut a different figure while lounging by the pool at Point Piper, Sydney with his girlfriend Maddy King on Sunday.
The 36-year-old father-of-one showed off a fuller form wearing a pair of bright blue sport shorts.
The Manchester-born former professional rugby league player left his five day a week presenting role at Channel 7’s The Daily Edition to start a fitness business at the end of last year.
Kris, who will be walking for Myer at their Autumn/ Winter 2015 launch on Thursday, has a young son with ex-girlfriend Dannii Minogue.
He recently took up a position at The Weight Loss Institute where he is set to teach people about health and well-being.
He is so passionate about fitness, he has regularly featured in health supplements to share personal fitness and health philosophies.
He is also currently training to become a personal trainer.
But a recent trip to the UK for Christmas and the States on holidays may have something to do with Kris’s new fuller frame.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia two months ago, he revealed that he finds it hard to fight the bulge.
‘I put weight on and bulk up very easily, but getting lean is harder for me.’
Despite his tremendous shape at the time, Kris believed he was ‘five or six kilos’ overweight and planned to do a six week challenge after Christmas.
Last year Kris revealed that staying in shape is no easy feat for him.
‘I have never been blessed with the ability to stay trim,’ he wrote on an Instagram post of himself as a child bearing a little bit of puppy fat.
‘I work hard for everything, and I will keep working harder and harder to stay healthy and happy.’
Meanwhile, Maddy, who also works as a model looked trim in a hot pink two-piece.
Showing off her golden glow, opted for a strapless bather with strings at the side, while she protected her face from the sun in a black, peaked cap.
