Frank Sinatra was the inspiration behind the name of which cartoon character?
Answer: Frank Sinatra was the inspiration behind our favorite crime-solving Great Dane’s name. The creators of the show decided to change the name of the dog from their original choice of Too Much and go with a name inspired by the skating Sinatra did at the end of his songs. Fred Silverman, a CBS executive was intrigued by Sinatra’s scatting and subsequently named the pup “Scooby-Doo” in 1969. And so Sinatra crooning “Scooby dooby doo” gave birth to one of TV’s most famous dogs in television history.
Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby are reunited at a spooky amusement park after a long gap of two years. Here, they investigate strange occurrences that the visitors are subjected to.
