Where was the first Five Guys restaurant located?
Would you like fries with that? The Murrell Family, led by Janie and Jerry Murrell, opened its first burger joint in Arlington, Virginia, in 1986.
The family, always a believer in pure, high-quality ingredients, fried its fries in 100 percent peanut oil and made its burgers by hand. The restaurant takes its name from the expansive Murrell family, made up of five brothers. The family decided to franchise the restaurant beginning in 2003. It has since expanded to over 1,500 locations across the U.S., U.K., Canada, the Middle East and Europe. Source: Five Guys
