Riddle: I pass before the sun, yet make no shadow. What am I?
The answer to this riddle is the wind. This riddle appears as part of a competition between Roland and Blaine the Mono in the opening chapter of Steven King’s “Wizard and Glass.” This is not our topic. But I still wanted to say!
Enough chatter. Let’s go back to the riddle now.
Before sunrise, the weather is usually cold. Besides being cold, it is also windy. So the wind passes before the sun. And we all know that the wind has no shadow … No need to explain that!
Answer: The wind.
